At a party programme in Gorkha on Saturday, Dahal claimed it was the UCPN (Maoist) and not Baburam Bhattarai which won election in Gorkha. “It was won by the party and not the person. It won’t be easy for Bhattarai to win election again here in Gorkha,” Dahal said.
Dahal claimed it was him who appointed Bhattarai as politburo member of the party despite objection from other party leaders and even made him the country’s PM. “But he let me down and decided to part ways. He opted to look for a new family leaving behind the one which was with him for his life,” he said.
Dahal said unity with Mohan Baidhya was on the cards and unless something drastic happens, it would materialise soon. He said a new unity government should be formed after the conclusion of Nepali Congress general convention. “We have no objection if consensus is reached on KP Sharma Oli or any other names for PM”, he said.
