“Friendship between our two countries has not been created by anybody, it is spontaneous development so nobody can spoil it,” PM Oli, who is on a state visit to India said while addressing a programme organised to welcome him at Bhuj, Gujarat today.
Before this, the Prime Minister had observed the post-earthquake reconstruction works in Bhuj.
He also said that his present visit has removed the sourness that was seen in the bilateral relations.
“I have come here with the message of the apostle of peace, the Buddha, and the prasad and blessings of Pashupatinath. I am impressed with your successful and inspiring reconstruction works. I wish you well and may our friendship deepen,” the Prime Minister said.
Locals accorded a heartfelt and grand welcome to PM Oli at a reconstructed community building where the programme was held. The building was filled with people. May be the grand and reverent reception given him by the Bhuj people made PM Oli emotional and he termed the welcome extraordinary.
Locals lining up on both sides of the road welcomed PM Oli waving the national flags of both countries. Portraits of PM Oli and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and welcome banners were put up on the poles and walls alongside the road. Modi was two-time Chief Minister of Gujarat state.
Even the mode of welcome seemed to resemble that of the Nepalis. The Prime Minister said that he was indebted to the love and cordiality expressed in welcoming him.
Meanwhile, the Governor of Mumbai C. Vidyasagar Rao hosted a dinner in honour of Prime Minister Oli and the members of his entourage this evening in Mumbai. PM Oli is now in Mumbai from Gujarat as part of his six-day state visit to India
